About Operation:
Write to Freedom
Operation:
Write to Freedom was formed by members of a group
of patriotic homeschoolers, from Illinois, who wanted to show
their support and appreciation for the United States military.
The group began meeting in the spring of 2002. Our members
have two things in common: homeschooling and a great love of
the United States of America!
Our
group has gathered monthly to educate our children (and our adults)
about this great country. At every meeting, members create cards
and write letters to send overseas. Some of our popsicle stick
flags were even flown in a mission in Afghanistan! (Note, the
background image for this site, along with the link markers to
the left were created from those popsicle stick flags.) We have
also made a huge hand flag, using the children's hand tracings
to create the great Stars & Stripes!
Over
the last several years, our group has been making pocket
flags to send to military personnel. Amid all of the
anti-war protesters, we want to make sure the military knows
they are
supported, respected and loved. We have heard back from many
of the military personnel who have received our pocket flags.
The message is clear: the people defending our freedoms appreciate
and need our support!
God
Bless the USA!
